The Proposed Broad-Gauge rail track of 205.79 km from Dahod to Indore, is spread over two states with 22km in Gujrat and 183km in Madhya Pradesh. M/S BPC INDIA had been entrusted by Western Railway to conducted field tests, sampling and laboratory testing for tunnels of length 13.56km and for major bridges between Katwara – Sagor in connection with new BG line project between Dahod – Indore of Western Railway.

The project area is situated in the western part of Indore District, 105km away from Indore city. The study area is cover by basaltic lava flows of Deccan trap which is a part of Malwa Region having rolling terrain.

The overall objectives of the exploration were to study and evaluate the stratigraphy of the said project location and to obtain Geotechnical parameters of the subsurface formations for design and construction of foundation.

The services provided by the firm included field survey by advance total station and GPS to finalize the tunnel and bridge alignment, detailed sub soil investigation, testing of Rock and Soil samples and detailed project report for design of tunnel and bridges.
