Turning to the infrastructure development of entire North-East, an important connector of northern part of Nagaland has been taken for upgradation work. The corridor of NH 702, starting from Longleng, the district head quarter to Namtala via Mon and Tizit, spanning approx 140 km, mostly passing through Hilly terrain.

Government of India is desirous for taking up development & maintenance of several highway projects connecting crucial areas in the different parts of Nagaland State and as a part of this endeavor.

The Authority has decided to undertake for widening and strengthening of NH-702 in Nagaland starting from NH-2 (Former NH-39) at Changtonya in Mokokchung district and terminating at its junction with new NH no. 215 near Sapekhati in the state of Assam, traversing Longleng-Longching-Mon-Lapa-Tizit. It is an important connector at the eastern part of Nagaland.

The work of conducting Feasibility Studies and Preparation of Detailed Project Report for two laning from Longleng town in Longleng district to Namtola Village in Mon district, a section of NH 702 in the state of Nagaland has been entrusted to BPC Consultant India Pvt. Ltd.
